In honour of all the fantastic Artweek happenings across Tāmaki Makaurau we have a special exhibition in the window by resident jeweller Mia Straka for the month of May.
Spacetime warp
`For the year July 2022 to June 2021 I encoded each day with a circular diagrammatic drawing.
Three dimensionally mapping 24 hour time periods into colour coded genres of activity, one hour became one cm, one length per day. Each `day` is connected to the past and future period.
For me the evening ritual of drawing and reflection became an anchoring practice. These works might be seen as navigational landmarks marking my experience of Spacetime.`

Term 2 jewellery classes start from next Monday 28 April and we have a few spots left.
Our 8 week term classes cater to a range of levels from complete beginner to more experienced jewellers.
For 3 hours each week you`ll learn metalworking techniques for jewellery in a friendly, supportive environment.
We`ve been teaching for over 30 years and are all practicing jewellers so it`s a lovely community with a wealth of knowledge to tap into.
