Come and join us for a full Saturday workshop. The classic ring making class is a great introduction to basic metalworking techniques including sawing, shaping, soldering and finishing. You will make a copper ring from sheet metal and a more customised silver ring with your new skills.
Beginners will make simple ring bands to start and then move onto a bezel setting. If you have made some jewellery before you can come along to learn new techniques or make your own designs guided by our experienced tutors.

This four week class is open to all levels of jewellery makers. You’ll learn how to carve waxes to be cast using the lost wax casting process. Waxes will be cast into metal by Regal castings. Once cast into metal you’ll learn finishing techniques to complete your jewellery back in the workshop.
Our resident jeweller Cheryl Sills will lead you through the ancient technique of sand casting in this four week workshop. You’ll create multiple experimental pieces using small objects to create negative space in delft clay, in which to pour your molten silver in this organic casting process.

In this 8 week evening class we will introduce you to basic metal working skills through ring making and wax carving for the lost wax casting process for those interested. Returning students are welcome to work on their own projects.
